My career
I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Rhythm is in my blood. At the age of 14, I started playing percussion in several Samba Schools. During this time I practiced a lot of sports and got to know the connection between rhythm and sports, which led to a degree in Sports Science in Brazil. I completed my university studies in the late 80's.
In 1990 I came to Europe, originally to attend a postgraduate course to my sports degree. Due to the strong encouragement of my oldest sister (singer & dancer) and my brother-in-law (guitarist), I decided to become a musician. For this reason, I moved the centre of my life to Vienna. I was preparing for one whole year for the entrance examination at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and in 1994 I started to study drums. From then on, my career as a percussionist evolved and I was soon on tour with many different artists.
My work
My life and work benefit from the connection to my South American roots and my education and life in Vienna. Being an artist, but also an entrepreneur at the same time, is the optimal balance for me; both parts inspire each other. Creativity, art, structure and reliability are not mutually exclusive, but complement each other perfectly.
